SMS Terms & Messaging Policy
Effective 7 October 2026
This policy explains how Insurade sends SMS messages, how we obtain your consent, and how you can stop receiving them. We follow the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), the Spam Regulations 2021 and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Who sends the messages
Messages are sent by Insurade, a trading name of Erik Dempsey (sole trader), ABN 69 971 493 879, QLD 4217. Every message identifies Insurade as the sender.
2. Types of messages
| Type | Examples | How you agree |
| Service messages | Call-back reminders, replies to your enquiry, confirmation of your registration | Ticking the "Service SMS" or "Reply by SMS" box, or asking us to text you |
| Marketing (commercial) messages | Offers, promotions, insurance tips and updates | Ticking the separate, unticked "Marketing SMS" box only |
We never send marketing SMS without your express consent. Consent is never pre-ticked and is never a condition of registering or contacting us.
3. Frequency and cost
Marketing messages are limited to up to 4 per month. Service messages are sent only as needed. We do not charge for messages, but your mobile carrier's standard rates may apply.
4. Rules every marketing message follows
- Consent: sent only to people who gave express consent, or where the law allows inferred consent from an existing relationship.
- Identify: each message clearly identifies Insurade and how to contact us.
- Unsubscribe: each message includes a free way to opt out (reply STOP). The facility stays working for at least 30 days after the message is sent.
- Timing: we aim to send marketing messages between 9am and 8pm (recipient's local time) on weekdays, and 9am–5pm on Saturdays, and not on Sundays or national public holidays.
- No purchased lists: we never buy, rent or use harvested phone numbers.
5. How to opt out
- Reply STOP to any message; or
- Email info@insurade.org with "UNSUBSCRIBE" and your mobile number; or
- Use the contact form and choose "Unsubscribe / opt out".
We action opt-out requests within 5 business days, and usually immediately. You may receive one confirmation message. Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages you have separately asked for unless you tell us to stop those too. Reply HELP for help.
6. Consent records
When you give consent we record the date and time, the form used, the exact consent wording you agreed to, and your mobile number. We keep these records while we send you messages and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can show we complied with the law.
7. Your number
Your mobile number is handled under our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your number with third parties for their own marketing. We use an Australian-based SMS gateway provider to deliver messages on our behalf.
8. Complaints
Contact us first at info@insurade.org. If you're not satisfied, you can report unsolicited messages to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) at acma.gov.au.
